Through my childhood and adulthood experiences of being an athlete and a coach I have come to develop and base my coaching on the core fundamentals of player development.
My theory of coaching is not only “how to play the game of baseball” but how the game can teach you about life through adversity, as well as situations both mentally and physically. Life is built on these fundamentals of development and growth, so why not teach this in a structured environment where the student athletes can understand and relate.
Many coaches have lost the heart to be “the mentor” promoting “winning” as the bottom line. I love to win as much as the next coach, however I strongly believe in player development through fundamentals, practice, sportsmanship, respect and the overall Joy of playing baseball.
